The River Nadder

The River Nadder at Compton Chamberlayne is situated in the Wiltshire countryside and as such is not true chalk stream, however, the setting is delightfully rural and it is increasingly popular with the fishermen who have discovered its charms.

There are seven beats in total, each with a small hut and taking two fishermen. The beats are all relatively narrow so long casts are not necessary but the river meanders along its path creating interest and the perfect hiding place for Trout. This is a well managed estate with a good number of stocked Trout which usually seem to rise to the dry.
