The River Kennet at EastRidge Estate

This upper section of the river Kennet is lovely chalk stream fishing. It varies throughout the beats so you never get bored and the scenery is beautiful.

The fishing hut for 2022 is standard with a couple of chairs and table but a good base for lunch.

In 2023 the plans are for the stunning turbine hut to have been renovated for corporate entertaining.

They have stopped wading to protect the river bed but it is relatively easy to cover the river and there is plenty of water to hunt your quarry. The bottom beat runs slower and with plenty of cover for the angler and vegetation for hatching invertebrates. There are some cracking stocked fish in this section that can easily be spotted sipping off the surface.

The top section is my favourite and although also stocked, there are some fabulous wild browns and it is terrific stalking water.
