Catch that elusive trout & become a better angler

If you are a beginner to fishing on the chalkstreams you will need certain skills to increase your chances of catching wary trout - booking a guide can therefore make all the difference to your experience.

Learning to present a fly delicately, with minimum impact from your casting, is the optimum skill required to mastering stealth on the riverbank. By having a guide with you throughout the day, you will learn: good line management techniques; an understanding of trout behaviour; an understanding of fly recognition, as the seasons change throughout the year.

Seasoned anglers will also benefit from a guide for the day with the chance to learn more advanced casting techniques and a deeper understanding of how to catch tricky fish on more difficult days.

Fly Odyssey guides are professional, experienced and passionate anglers with a deep-rooted knowledge of the chalkstream rivers.

A guide's main aim:

To ensure your safety whilst fishing

To ensure your rod and line set up is correct across the day

To advise fly selection and casting technique

And most importantly,  to make sure you have a fantastic day on the river, catching that elusive fish!
